The IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management is designed to raise the professional competence of the environmental practitioners by assessing their knowledge and understanding of environmental practitioners by assessing their knowledge and understanding of environmental management and its application. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises providing a ‘hands on’ perspective.
The course consists of continual assessment by tutors throughout the duration of the course and an open book exam to be carried out in your own time after the course (to be returned within an agreed period – typically 3 weeks).
The IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management is Unit 2 within the Professional Level Environmental Course Programme; therefore individuals wishing to sit the course must have successfully completed unit 1 – IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities. Candidates with a good level of environmental experience may be eligible for exemptions from Unit 1. A good command of the English language is essential.
The IEMA Associate Certificate is a 5 day course.
Holders of the IEMA Associate Certificate can progress onto the final unit within the Professional Level Environmental Course Programme: Unit 3 – NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management.
Having gained the IEMA Associate Certificate you are eligible for Associate Membership of IEMA (AIEMA).
