David has approximately 30 years experience in health & safety, qualifying as an Environmental Health Officer in 1976. He has spent 17 years in enforcement roles in the North East and for the last 12 years has been an adviser, consultant and trainer to private industry (formerly with the EEF). David is the chairman of the RoSPA affiliated Sunderland Safety Group

Gary Huckins BSc (Hons), MSc, CMIOSH
Senior Health & Safety Consultant.
Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner.
Gary has 25 years experience in manufacturing in various roles. He has worked for much of this in the chemical industry including 10 years in SH&E at ICI and six years as a Group Safety manager for a global chemical corporation. Gary has experience of high tier COMAH reports and training and competence schemes in this environment. Gary also has in depth knowledge of risk & COSHH assessment and also safety management systems.

Alan Springhall MSc
Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant.
With the foundation of an engineering apprenticeship and over 20 years experience in senior engineering and manufacturing roles, Alan has significant knowledge as well as practical experience of Health and Safety regulatory requirements including ATEX/DSEAR, PUWER & LOLER. He has worked in the glass, plastics, and bulk paper processing industries and more recently in aerospace manufacture. Alan has specialist knowledge of manufacturing process and machinery safety and guarding.
