The purpose of the course is to provide practical understanding of environmental protection regulations. This course is designed for individuals seeking to upgrade their skills to be able to tackle the complex issues relating to an integrated approach to environmental protection. Subject matter covers the legal background of IPPC; concepts of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control; understanding the definition of Best Available Techniques (BATs); and the structure of the Environmental Permitting Regulations. The role of the environmental agency and the regulatory process is also a key theme throughout the course.
