The NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is a globally recognised qualification which has been specifically developed for those who want to become health and safety professionals. Anyone achieving this award will be more able to discharge their organisational duties and offer a common and consistent standard for achieving and maintaining the health and safety of workers in all parts of the world.
The NEBOSH International Diploma is modelled on the United Kingdom’s NEBOSH National Diploma. The key difference between the two awards is in the applicability of the legal requirements. Rather than be guided by a specifically UK framework, the International Diploma takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards.
The course includes practical and theory based assessment, successful candidates will be able to carry out DSE assessments within their own workplace.
The programme syllabus assumes that candidates will have a broad basic knowledge of health and safety equivalent to that given by the International General Certificate. While this is not mandatory, it should be noted that the syllabus content includes both knowledge expected of students, equivalent to having taken such a programme of study, and content that will have been covered in the IGC.
If candidates do not hold the International General Certificate then a phone interview is required before they can book onto the course.
