Course Summary

The NEBOSH National Diploma is a nationally recognised professional qualification for those specialising in occupational safety and health. The NEBOSH National Diploma provides the firm knowledge and understanding which underpins competent performance and is graded level 6 in the National Qualification Framework.

  • Unit  A – Management of Health and Safety
  • Unit  B – Hazardous Agents in the Workplace
  • Unit  C – Workplace and Work Equipment
  • Unit  D – Application of Health and Safety Theory and Practice

Ways to Study

Integra have 3 modes of study:

Block Release – This is a structured classroom – based course consisting of two full week blocks (non continuous) and two days for revision and exams.

Day Release – This is a structured classroom – based course. Attendance consists of one day per week.

Supported Distance Learning – A more flexible non classroom based method of study which gives you responsibility for your own study time. You are required to attend classroom based sessions one day per month for designated sessions with tutors, allowing you to ask any questions you may have as well as covering the key topic areas.

Teaching and Assessment

Assessment consists of a three hour written examination per unit. (A,B and C) and a workplace based assignment (Unit D) of approx. 8,000 words. All four units must be passed in order to achieve the NEBOSH Diploma.

Entry Requirements

Whilst NEBOSH stipulate there are no set entry requirements for this course, Integra prefer candidates to hold an approved qualification in health and safety that is accredited at level 3 or above e.g. NEBOSH National General Certificate. Those candidates wishing to undertake the course without a level or above will be asked to visit Integra for an interview prior to booking.

Course Duration

NEBOSH stipulate a recommended teaching and study time for all their national programmes. The recommended teaching time for this course is 241* taught hours and 234* hours of private study and background reading.

Where Next

Holders of the NEBOSH Diploma have progressed onto further study at postgradute level including the University of Sunderland’s MSc in Environmental, Health and Safety.
