Course Summary

It is essential for all employees to consult with employees about matters which will affect their health and safety. This can be achieved by direct consultation with all workers or via elected safety representatives. In order for safety representatives to carry out their functions effectively they must receive suitable and sufficient training. This course is designed for all current or potential safety representatives and provides delegates with a full understanding of their duties and what they will need to do, to be able to fulfil them effectively.

  • The Duties and Functions of Safety Representatives
  • The Legal System
  • Health & Safety Legislation & Policies
  • Safety Committees
  • Management of H&S Regulations such as COSHH, RIDDOR, Noise at Work, Manual Handling, Electricity etc.

  • Block Release – A classroom based course consisting of one full teaching day.

Teaching and Assessment

This course combines group discussions and practical exercises. Candidates will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

Entry Requirements

There are no set entry requirements for this course although a good command of the English language is essential.
